Ok, it was Monday evening after an exceptionally long day at work (I gave blood for our blood drive and was already in a dangerously weakened state). Anyway, I called mom and dad after work to see how they were doing when mom said "oh, you need to turn your TV to ETV to watch a really sweet story about dogs. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy". I then asked "You know I am very emotional about dogs these days since Max is getting older, are you sure I won't cry?" Mom (a/k/a Lizzy Borden) then replied, "oh no, it really is sweet"!
Ok, the first story is about a German Shepard named "Cracker" who was really beautiful. Well, the long and short of it - Cracker was a war dog who was sent to Viet Nam and paired with a soldier. The soldier talked about their friendship and how they protected each other and formed such a strong bond. Then the story went on about how they were deep in the jungle and were sabotaged (The same feeling I am experiencing right now by you-know-who) and Cracker took a hit and saved the life of the soldier. Even though the medics came, Cracker had to be put down in the field. Then they switch to a live interview with the soldier and he is holding the leash, which is frayed because of the shrapnel, and his little lip is quivering while he was talking about his dog. He also had to take some time to compose himself to tell the story. Meanwhile, I am now drinking my 8th glass of water today to replenish the water that I cried out last night. I was sobbing; holding Max and this is in the first 5 minutes of a half hour show. I am NOT going to go into detail about the second story, about the "seizure dog" - that will have to wait for another day. Ooops, I must run, I just looked at my watch and it is time to take my anti-depressant medication which was prescribed to me today. Love you all!

Plus Size Model?
I work with crazy people....
If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you will see cotton balls along the edge of the window (on the left), as well as one taped on the top of the window in the center and one on my calendar. My entire office had them hidden....they were taped on my phone, stuck in the drawer handles, in my water glass, taped to my office keys, in my flowers, stuck in my chair, EVERYWHERE... I know I will get sympathy from dad and John - this is a family problem.
Birthday, 2007
I really enjoyed my day at the office. As you can see, I got lots of cards, a bottle of wine, candle, cow stool and really beautifiul flowers. No, the boxes of Tylenol and Motrin are every day office supplies for the employees (you know who we work for!!). Anyway, we went out for a great lunch and ate like pigs.
Also got a bottle of Baileys, a huge redwood planter complete with dirt, a new dog bed for Max (best present!) from Jim. I was very spoiled.

Reservations are Made!!
John and Christie purchased their tickets for their trip in October. They will be arriving in the States on October 3rd (will give them 4 days to catch up before our vacation). They have to go back on the 20th (we won't discuss that part!).
John, please remind me to tell you about the canoe trip and how brave Aunt Deb was when Aunt Jackie was speeding towards us. I was very impressed that Aunt Jackie could make a canoe go as fast as a power boat. I was even more impressed that Aunt Deb's lips could reach around the side of her head, yell, and she never once turned her head. At one point I saw her eye move to the side of her head and I thought I was sharing my canoe with a hammerhead shark.

The Back 40....Phase 2
I planted seeds about two weeks ago and they already grew out of their first little peat pots (this doesn't even represent an eighth of what I have growing)... I outgrew counterspace in the kitchen and am now using John's room as a greenhouse. This year's crop includes 3 kinds of tomatoes, white radishes, cucumbers, squash, hot peppers, banana peppers, onions, leeks and two different kinds of lettuce. It will be interesting to see how this year's crop turns out....
There's Not Enough Room for the Two of Us.....
A Lady Never Tells
I think Bandit panicked when she saw this tape measurer that I might measure her rear end and put her on a diet. I had to take it away when she tried to destroy the evidence.....
I am going to weight her the next time I pick her up. I found out that Rocky, at the center, is 35 pounds...He looks about the same size... Uh Oh...
